Education&Career 2013: the only event in the field of education organised with support from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan
Today at the JW Marriott Absheron Baku Hotel the 7th Azerbaijan International Education and Career Exhibition opened. It is the leading event in the field of education, organized by Iteca Caspian LLC and its British partner, ITE Group Plc., and officially supported by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan
It is symbolic that the autumn exhibition season in Azerbaijan has opened with such a significant forum. The exhibition is timed specifically to coincide with the new school year to help students and their parents to choose correctly from a variety of proposals and make the right investment for the future.
During his speech at the opening ceremony of the Azerbaijan International Education and Career Exhibition 2013, Minister for Education Mikayil Jabbarov stressed that the main purpose of the exhibition is to draw public attention to educational issues in Azerbaijan. This is why the holding of such an event is so clearly important and useful. The exhibition serves not only to provide publicity for higher education institutions or for teachers to meet with potential students, but to exchange experiences and best practice on an international scale as well.
In the modern world the educational process includes both teaching and future employment. With this in mind, in his speech the Minister focused on HR policy. The career opportunities available relate to an analysis of market conditions, thus universities should take into account society’s demand for skilled workers. Minister Jabbarov highlighted the role and importance of the presented displays and achievements, and expressed his confidence that the exhibition will serve to demonstrate the opportunities of the educational system in the country, as well as to generate interest in and willingness to cooperate with international educational institutions.
Farid Mamedov, Executive Director of Iteca Caspian LLC, welcomed visitors and participants in his speech and noted that this year the range of countries represented at Education and Career has grown significantly. Interest in this event was so great that the exhibition area was unable to host all the participants. Today 108 exhibitors from 18 countries present on their stands more than 70 faculties, courses and educational programmes. Mr Mamedov expressed his gratitude to all the agencies which have supported the exhibition, particularly the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The VIP tour around the exhibition then took place; here the majority of the exhibition’s stands can be identified as either classrooms, dedicated educational facilities or as affiliates of educational institutions. Here preschool and school education, distance learning, international study and exchange programmes for students, optional education and tourism programmes, language courses, summer schools and new information technology courses are showcased in a very attractive and skilled manner. Education and Career also offers a wonderful opportunity for visitors to find a new job through being interviewed by employers. Most of the stands focus on Bachelor’s programmes, MBAs, language courses, business programmes and international study programmes.
It is notable that this year there are five countries presenting national stands for the first time: Belarus, Lithuania, Ukraine, Hungary and Poland. These countries are representing the most prestigious educational institutions of their various cities. The rapid economic growth in Azerbaijan means the expansion of businesses and an increased demand for valuable professionals - thus creating an upsurge in the development of education. This trend is reflected in the Career sector of the exhibition, where the leading companies in Azerbaijan, including major employers such as ÂÐ, SOCAR and Azercell, can be found. Also in the Career sector are recruitment companies, which have organized preliminary interviews and are taking applications from young professionals who are trying to forge a career in a particular sphere. There are companies offering training and graduate programmes, internships, financial support for training in the oil and gas professions, and special programmes for graduates of the technical and oil and gas institutions of Azerbaijan. For the first time, the organiser of international exhibitions and conferences in Azerbaijan, Iteca Caspian, is participating with its own stand at Education and Career, and the company invites everyone who is interested in event organization to visit it at stand no. 1042.
Such a wide range of job offers opens up new opportunities for both pupils and future students, as well as for organizations willing to cooperate with Russian and British colleagues.
Education in Azerbaijan is represented by both state and private educational institutions, helping school and university graduates to make the right choice about their future jobs, collect documents and pass interviews with potential employers. Moreover, these institutions are also providing various useful tips for job search. The exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to learn more about high-quality comprehensive education, internship programmes and the recruitment process for young specialists, ensuring that everyone who cares about their education can take the first step on the path to a successful career.
A number of presentations and seminars will take place within the framework of the exhibition. An important event in the business programme is a seminar on the topic of “A healthy education – a healthy nation”. The organizers of Education and Career have invited Member of the Academy of Creative Pedagogy and Honoured Worker in General Education of the Russian Federation Professor Vladimir Bazarny to lead this seminar.
