Prospects of Education in Latvia
Patrick Morev, head of the Foreign Affairs Department of Liepaja University
- The Liepaja University, Riga Technical University and Turiba high school are being presented today, as part of the Joint National Stand of Latvia at Azerbaijan International "Education" Exhibition. We have repeatedly visited Baku to popularize education in Latvia, and this exhibition has provided a good opportunity to talk to foreign entrants about educational opportunities in Latvia. At the stand one can get information about other Latvian universities. I would like to emphasize that the quality of our education is widely recognized; as we are in Europe, it is also an attractive geopolitical region. Furthermore, we have a high quality of life with relatively low prices for education.
We offer a wide range of training programs. From medicine to computer technology, one can find any specialty. The Azerbaijani students already study in the Latvian high schools, and most of them are concentrated in the largest one of them - the Riga Technical University. The first bachelors and masters students have already graduated. The courses are taught in English.
Throughout the course of the exhibition we expect to generate potential, future entrants. We aim to meet with representatives of Azerbaijani universities to reach an agreement with them on cooperation, since there are currently many European programs that sponsor teacher exchanges across different countries.
