The first hours of the "Education" and "Career" exhibitions were attended by over 3,000 people
The 9th Azerbaijan International "Education" Exhibition, organized with the official support and active participation of the national Ministry of Education began today at the Baku Expo Centre. The 9th Azerbaijan International "Career" Exhibition has also started alongside the “Education” exhibition. In scale and organization, this event is the largest exhibition in the field of educational services held in Azerbaijan. Organizer of the exhibition is Caspian Event Organisers (CEO).
The exhibition provides a unique selection of the best education, and introduces foreign universities to Azerbaijani applicants.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Jeyhun Bayramov, Deputy Minister of Education stressed the importance of professional formation of the modern generation. In today's world, he said, the strength of any society was based on competent personnel, so the future of the state was associated with the education of its citizens.
“The Ministry appreciates the traditional ‘Education’ exhibition”, the speaker stressed, “and we are pleased that the interest in this event is growing from year to year”. This exhibition forms contacts between youth and employers, contributes to the credibility of education, etc. Through these connections, it is necessary to mention the examples of the projects completed in the past year. The branch of the First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov, as well as the Azerbaijani-French University were opened in Baku. It is telling that a number of national universities today apply the practice of granting dual diplomas, which is important in improving the educational process at the international level.
"Sabah" project of the Ministry was presented in the last exhibition, and during this period the number of universities participating in that project has increased. Thus, the exhibition has had a positive impact on the development of the project.
Farid Mammadov, General Director of Caspian Event Organisers (CEO) said that this year the education fair was attended by 124 institutions from 16 countries. More than 10 million visitors each year use the exhibition to get the most accurate information on local and foreign educational institutions, scholarships, student visa rules, and other important details.
More than 75 paid and free faculties, courses, and programs on various specialties make up the exposition. Among the participants there are: universities, colleges, training programs, and public organizations from Azerbaijan, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, Poland, USA, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, and Hungary, among others.
The information on education opportunities abroad for Azerbaijani students is provided at the national stands of Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey, and the United States. Traditionally, the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic takes active part in the exhibition and makes the information about the plans and programs for the coming years available at its stand.
The main focus of the exhibition is made in the following sectors: "higher education" and "improvement of language skills", which is designed for the group of visitors at the age of 16 and older. The basis of the exhibition is made of a variety of university programs, opportunities for acquisition of bachelor's, master's, MBA and PhD degrees, and language courses. The following specialties are widely represented: "Business and Marketing", "Computer Science and Computer Technology", "Medical Education". The "Metallurgy", "Management and Protection of Natural Resources", "Geometry", and "Military Technology" departments are being presented for the first time.
The "Modern equipment for educational institutions" sector hasn’t gone unnoticed. The new IT-technologies facilitating the education process are presented at the exhibition by the Lukas-Nuelle and Sinam companies. The ITE - Innovative Technologies in Education Company, as well as others, are demonstrating interactive whiteboards, computers for secondary and higher education, and laboratory equipment.
This year, the participants of the "Career" exhibition including Azercell, Azersu, Azersun Holding, the Formula - 1 Baku European Grand Prix, Gilan Holding, Baku Metro, Halliburton, SOCAR, SOCAR Polymer and others present vacancies in the spheres of oil and gas, telecommunications, transport services, finance, water, energy, sales, and marketing.
In general, live vacancies on the following professions are available for job seekers: accountants, office managers, IT-specialists, auditors, financial analysts, HR-managers, call-center employees, marketing managers, energy sector engineers, electricians, mechanics, automation specialists, and several others.
Entrance to the "Education" exhibition is open to high school students, their parents, applicants, higher education students, professionals in the sector, as well as to those who are looking for work. Entrance to the careers exhibition is open to all who are in search of work. Special buses will regularly bring visitors from the "Koroglu" metro station to exhibition venue and back will be organized during the exhibition.
The exhibition will last until 11 October.
