The Press Conference dedicated to the opening of Education 2015 exhibition was held on 8 October.

The 9th Azerbaijan International Education Exhibition - the only event in the field of education in Azerbaijan, organized with the official support and active participation of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan - starts on the 9th October in the Baku Expo Center. As is tradition, the Education exhibition will be held simultaneously alongside the ‘Career’ exhibition. In terms of its scope and composition, it is the largest exhibition in the field of educational services held in Azerbaijan. More than 10 million visitors each year use the exhibition to find the most accurate information on local and foreign educational institutions, scholarships, student visa regulations and other important details.

This year the ‘Education’ exhibition will be attended by 124 institutions from 16 different countries. The exposition will be comprised of 75 paid and free faculties, courses and programmes on various. Exhibition participants will include universities, colleges and training programmes, as well as government organizations and institutions from Azerbaijan, Russia, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, the United Arab Emirates, Poland, USA, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Switzerland, Hungary and other countries. Information on foreign education opportunities for Azerbaijani youth will be presented at the exhibition by 5 national stands from Lithuania, Poland and Turkey, as well as the United States and Latvia who are debutants this year. In general, the new exhibitors account for 30% of the total number of participants. The foreign universities taking part in the exhibition for the first time include the I. M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University (1st MGMU), the S. P. Korolev Samara State Aerospace University, the Institute of Transport and Communications of Latvia, the National University of Science and Technology “MISiS” (formerly Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys State Technological University), Mordovia State National Research University named after N.P. Ogarev and the University of Euroregional Economy in Poland.

Encouragingly, the exhibition is seeing a growing number of educational institutions from Azerbaijan. The list of exhibitors includes Azerbaijan Technical University, Azerbaijan University of Technology (Ganja), Economic University, Baku Higher Oil School, Baku State University, Baku Slavic University, Baku Business University, Ganja State University, CELT Colleges, F-Group Academy and a number of other educational institutions from around the country. The debutants among local universities include the Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University, the Azerbaijan Cooperation University, and the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry. Traditionally, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which presents information at its stand regarding the Ministry of Education’s plans and programmes in the coming years, takes active part in the exhibition.

This year, the exhibition mainly focusing on the higher education and  improvement of language skills sectors, which are designed for an audience of visitors aged 16 and above. The basis for the exhibition is made on a variety of university programmes and opportunities for the acquisition of Bachelor's, Master's, MBA and PhD degrees, as well as language courses. Due to the fact that the leadership of our country pays great attention to the development of the non-oil sector of the economy, this year, universities have made proposals on education in the field of tourism, robotics, information technology, technical education (engineering) and process automation. The following specialties are widely presented at the exhibition: Business and Marketing, Computer Science and Computer Technology, Medical Education (which is presented at the exhibition via as many as five specialties, including biotechnology). The “metallurgy”, “management and protection of natural resources”, “geometry”, and “military technology” departments are also being presented at the Education exhibition for the first time. Thus, the exhibition will, yet again, present a unique opportunity to choose the best education and make foreign universities accessible for Azerbaijani students.

At the exhibition, visitors will have the chance to personally interact with representatives from the leading universities and ask them questions about how to start the application process, how best to prepare for it, what are the deadlines for filing documents, how much the courses cost, how to arrange accommodation, find out the university’s ratings and specialties and much more.

The “Modern equipment for educational institutions” sector has not gone unnoticed. The new IT-technologies facilitating the education process are being presented at the exhibition by companies including Lukas-Nuelle and Sinam. Furthermore, ITE - Innovative Technologies in Education Company - and others will demonstrate interactive whiteboards, computers for secondary and higher education and laboratory equipment.

The 9th Azerbaijan International Career Exhibition - a unique specialized platform that provides the possibility of direct employment - will be held from the 9th to 11th October in the Baku Expo Center. The importance of this event is highlighted by the fact that the exhibition is supported by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

An extensive business programme has been scheduled for the Education and Career exhibitions. As such, Ultra Computers, which will organize a seminar presentation on Electronic Education - An innovative approach to the educational process, will start its work at the exhibition on the 9th October at 12:00. Following this, a memorandum of cooperation will be signed between the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan University of Technology and Caspian Event Organisers (CEO) at 12:30. The conference called “Customer-focused Programme”, which will last 2 days, will begin on the same day. The conference is being collectively organized by the University of Technology, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Caspian Event Organisers, CEO.

The “Educational Programmes for Girls” seminar will be another event in the framework of the exhibition and will be attended by school directors, school psychologists and representatives of the Ministry of Education. Mrs Margaret Moulton - International Consultant to Independent Schools and Associations of the United States - will participate as a speaker. The “Seminar for the applicant”, which will be held on the 10th October in the Baku Expo Center by Gilan Holding, will teach visitors how to compose their CV and act in an interview in order to get the desired position.

Thus, the exhibition touches on the most topical issues of education and employment. The extensive exposition contributes to the expansion of international cooperation in the field of education. It also informs young people about the variety of directions and forms of training both within the country and abroad, as well as helping them to find work through the offered vacancies. Even though nowadays there are many ways to get information, the exhibition is a versatile tool that allows visitors to obtain all the information they need within three days. Entry to the Education exhibition will be available to students from grades 9 to 11 and their parents, applicants, students, principals, university rectors, vice-rectors for economic issues and other industry professionals. The exhibition is organised by Caspian Event Organisers, CEO.
