The 7th Azerbaijan International Education and Career Exhibition has taken place at the JW Marriot Absheron Baku Hotel from the 4th to the 6th October 2013
The 7th Azerbaijan International Education and Career Exhibition has taken place at the JW Marriot Absheron Baku Hotel from the 4th to the 6th October 2013. This is the only event in the field of education which is organised with the official support of the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan. The exhibition also had the support of the Azerbaijan Fund for the Promotion of Export and Investment (AZPROMO) and the National Confederation of Entrepreneur Organisations (Employers) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
This year, the exhibition gathered 108 exhibitors from 18 countries. The exhibitors were presented the best education programmes for every student both in our country and abroad. The exhibition was visited by a large number of young people that are striving to receive a good education at the best universities in the world, as well as young specialists that are looking for employment opportunities.
Minister of Education of Azerbaijan Mikhail Dzhabbarov, Deputy Minister of Education of Lithuania Rimantas Vaitkus, Academician of Creative Education, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Vladimir Bazarny, Chairman of the Russian Union for the Healthy Development of Children Valery Bechun and Executive Director of Iteca Caspian LLC Farid Mamedov visited various stands and met the heads and lecturers of foreign higher education institutions. In his welcome address at the opening of the exhibition Mikhail Dzhabbarov noted that the steps that are being taken for the preparation of highly qualified specialists are playing an important role in the transformation of every state into a developed industrial country. The main purpose of the exhibition is to attract the attention of society to issues in the education of Azerbaijan, which is why every event of this kind is very important.
Upon the conclusion of the opening ceremony, the guests of honour were taken on a VIP tour of the exhibition. The exhibition featured distance learning systems, programmes for education abroad and student exchanges, faculty education and tourism industry training programmes, new information technologies and many other offerings. Many displays were related to BA and MBA programmes, language courses, business programmes and study abroad.
National Groups actively participated in the exhibition, with Belarus, Hungary, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine presenting well known educational institutions in various cities. The national stands of Hungary and Poland made their debut at the exhibition this year. The largest group was Lithuanian higher education institutions, which included 22 exhibitors. The National Group of Belarus included 7 higher education institutions from the largest cities in the Republic.
The unique feature of the Education and Career exhibition is that it creates great conditions for the selection of a future profession as well as helping employers and job seekers. This year, the Careers section featured leading companies from Azerbaijan such as Azercell, BP, SOCAR-AQS, JTI and UniBank, which were offering vacancies in the fields of telecommunications, oil and gas, energy and banking. HRC recruitment company also had a stand at the exhibition. Exhibition and conference organiser Iteca Caspian took part in the conference as an exhibitor for the first time. Stand No.1042 attracted the attention of many visitors that wanted to work at Iteca Caspian. More than 100 CVs were submitted at the company stand. The company now has the choice of many promising young specialists.
The exhibition also featured a rich business programme. One of the important events of the business programme at this exhibition was the seminar run by Academician of Creative Pedagogy, Honoured Worker of Education of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Medical Sciences Professor V.F. Bazarny on the subject of "The ergonomics of the educational process in pre-school and school educational institutions and its influence on the development and health of new generations". Professor Bazarny presented a unique self-authored system aimed at the transfer of educational institutions onto a foundation for the development of health which ensures the discovery of the potential of the child as part of the educational process/. The Professor was invited by the exhibition organisers with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. A disk with a recording of Professor Bazarny's seminar was prepared for distribution to schools in Azerbaijan at the end of the exhibition.
The "Successful person" competition award ceremony took place at the exhibition, sponsored by Education&Career 2013 organisers Iteca Caspian LLC. A grand awards ceremony was held featuring popular radio presenter Dr Zii where Orkhan Asadov, Sanan Pashaev, Nidzhat Amiraliyev and Ilgar Alizade were awarded Sony E-Readers.
The majority of the 6667 visitors that came to the exhibition this year were school leavers, students, their parents, secondary school and higher education teachers as well as industry professionals. Exhibitors that had the most noticeable and memorable stands were awarded certificates by the organisers. The following companies won award certificates at the exhibition:

The Education and Career exhibition is very relevant, so it was decided that the exhibition will be divided into two separate projects - The Azerbaijan International Education Exhibition and the Azerbaijan International Career Exhibition.
The Education and Career exhibition has had the support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan since its inception. The official safety partner of all exhibitions organised by Iteca Caspian in 2013 was SafeLife, the official hotels were Jumeirah Bilgah Beach Hotel and Qafqaz Point Hotel and the official tour operator was Greenwich Travel Club.
