Education and Career 2011: Choose Education-Secure the Future!
Education and Career 2011, the 5th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Education & Career Exhibition opened today at Baku Expo Centre. One of the major events in the region in the field of educational services, career guidance and youth employment, and organized by Iteca Caspian LLC and its partner, ITE Group PLC, the show is held with the active support of the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan Republic.
Mr. Gulu Novruzov, Deputy Minister for Education of Azerbaijan made a speech at the opening ceremony and stressed the importance of this event. The Education and Career Exhibition not only promotes a new generation of entrepreneurs, but also contributes to the improvement of the level of education in the country as a whole.
Mr Farid Mammadov, Director of Iteca Caspian welcomed the guests and participants of the exhibition, and in his speech he stressed the importance of the strong support for the event given by the Ministry of Education. Noting that the Ministry was interested in holding such exhibitions at least twice a year, Mr Farid Mammadov said that the organizers had already begun work to expand the project.
During the VIP tour, the guests received extensive information on local and foreign educational institutions, familiarizing themselves with the educational institutions of different countries who, in their displays, successfully reflected the "Choose Education-Secure the Future" slogan. This year, Education and Career attracted 103 educational institutions and organizations from 15 countries worldwide. Alongside well-known institutions, the prestigious schools and universities that have begun to develop more recently in the Azerbaijani market attend this exhibition and account for 40% of the total number of exhibitors. Educational institutions and organizations from Great Britain, Germany, Greece, Lithuania, Turkey, the USA, the UAE, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and other countries will demonstrate the opportunities they offer at the exhibition. The main emphasis of the exhibition is on higher education and the improvement of language skills, both of which are targeted at audiences aged 16 and above.
Due to the fact that this year has been declared the Year of Tourism by the President of Azerbaijan, particular attention has been paid during the planning to a section of the exhibition dedicated to education in the tourism industry. The 23 educational institutions at the exhibition offer a wide range of specialisms in the areas of tourism and hotel management. The exhibition is also continuing its tradition of covering new niches - oceanography, sea exploration, roads and intelligent transportation management courses will be presented for the first time at the Education and Career exhibition.
This year the major global hotels chains that have a presence in Azerbaijan are participating in the Career part of the show and are hoping to recruit suitable employees for their businesses. The Education and Career Exhibition not only provides information on high-quality education, but also provides real assistance to employers and jobseekers in hospitality and tourism.
